Golf Success

Oct 11, 2017

Friday and Saturday, the varsity boys golf team participated in one of the states most competitive tournaments at Lakecliff Country Club in Spicewood. The boys played 36 holes on Friday and 18 on Saturday

The Dragons struggled on Friday’s first 18 holes (311), but rebounded with a 305 on the 2nd round that afternoon. Still, that put us well behind the pack at 14th place (out of 20).
Saturday, however, was a different story. Leading the way on that day was senior Jack Anderson, who posted a 68, followed by junior Ian Strickland’s 72, seniors Tyler Walters 74, Hunter Haskins’ 77, and Seth Carson’s (80) and the boys turned in a stellar 291. In the end, the Dragons climbed their way to a 12th place finish after catching 2 teams that were 10+ shots ahead in the standings.

Final Individual Results:
10. Jack Anderson: 71-69-68 (-4)
60. Tyler Walters: 78-79-74 (+18)
65. Ian Strickland: 80-80-72 (+19)
