Yearbook Success

Apr 10, 2017

Yearbook wins Pacemaker Award. About six weeks ago, the RRHS yearbook staff was informed that they were nominated for a Pacemaker award, the equivalent of a Pulitzer prize for high school journalism. Thus, this past weekend, eleven yearbook students attended the National Scholastic Press Association convention in Seattle to be one of nine recipient in our yearbook’s size classification to win the award. Moreover, our book also won fifth place in the Best of Show category.

Sponsor Sharon Kubicek thanks the Dragon community stating “in all honesty, winning the award is amazing, but we owe the Round Rock High School community a huge thank you. You let us wander into your classroom to document life. You tell us when cool things are going on. You support the kids who ask for random information and track you down for scores and information. This thing literally doesn’t get done without you.”

As the yearbook staff finishes “the proofs for this year’s book in the next two days and another one will be in the books, literally,” be sure to congratulate these Dragons!
