Le Grand Concours the National French Contest

Round Rock ISD students showcased their language skills nationally in the 2026 edition of Le Grand Concours, the National French Contest hosted by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF). 250 French learners across the district competed, and five Round Rock ISD schools had students place in the Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze or Honorable Mention categories.

Students from Cedar Valley, Pearson Ranch, Walsh, Round Rock, and Westwood were recognized with various awards, including platinum, gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as honorable mentions.

Marie-Christine Douglass, Round Rock ISD’s K-12 World Languages Coordinator, celebrated the achievement.

“The outstanding results on Le Grand Concours reflect the remarkable dedication of our students and the unwavering commitment of our French teachers,” Douglass said. “Their collective effort, passion for learning, and pursuit of excellence have led to achievements that bring great pride to our district and highlight the strength of our French programs.”

These outstanding results affirm Round Rock ISD’s continued excellence in language learning. The District proudly recognizes each student for their hard work and congratulates them on representing their schools and community with distinction.

Le Grand Concours is an annual competition that invites French students in grades 1 through 12 from all 50 states and abroad to participate in a written test, competing against peers with similar educational backgrounds for a chance to win prizes.
