Cross Country Success!!

Our Dragon Cross Country teams did RRHS proud at the Round Rock ISD Invitational on October 13, 2016. The Girls Varsity, JV, and Freshman teams all placed 1st overall in their divisions, while the Boys Varsity earned 2nd overall, with the JV and Freshman Boys both placing 1st in their divisions.

No other district high school compared to the Round Rock Cross Country program, and the District Meet is next Thursday, October 20. Great job, athletes!

The Girls Varsity team was led by Meghan Smith, who finished 1st, with Caitlyn Thoene in 2nd, Becca Buford in 8th, and Cassie Thomas in 9th.  The Girls JV put up a near-perfect score, taking 1st through 4th places, with Morganne Darling placing 1st, Elizabeth Chimitt placing 2nd, Cat Borel placing 3rd, and Alia Shermer placing 4th, with Riley Beard placing 7th, and Kenzie Chafin placing 9th.  For the Girls Freshman, Megan Nevlud took 2nd, Olivia Mills took 4th, Tyler Cates took 9th, and Allie Partridge took 10th.

Our Boys Varsity team was led by Jackson Canoni, who finished 5th overall, followed closely by Kobe Yepez and Jacob Reynolds in 7th and 9th, respectively. Boys JV scored a perfect race, sweeping 1st through 5th places, led by Tyler Duke placing 1st, Zach Driscoll placing 2nd, Kyle Champion placing 3rd, Dominic Vargas placing 4th, and Price Harrison placing 5th. Boys Freshman were led by Hayden Gray, who took 1st, while Ruben Estrada took 3rd, Christopher Tan took 5th, Robbie Graves took 6th, Clark Ansley took 7th, and Spencer Phelps took 8th.
