THEATER DEPARTMENT SUCCESS

The Theatre Department has had some department and individual successes on two fronts.  First:

ANASTASIA has been nominated for seven Heller Awards, including Best Production. This means we will perform at the HAYA ceremony at The Long Center on April 19th on the Dell Stage as a featured school.  We are one of eight schools in the area selected for this honor. Our nominations are:

Best Performer (Female Category) — Peyton Nisbett as Anya
Best Performer (Male Category) — Walker Wallace as Dmitry
Best Featured Performer — Presley Muirhead as Swan Lake Dancer
Best Lighting Design (Richard DeWeese)
 
UIL One Act Play Production of AMADEUS:
 
We advanced from Zone to District on March 7th, with the following awards divided among 4 schools:
Advancing Play
Honor Crew
All-Star Crew — Chloe Brown
Honorable Mention All-Star Cast — Aidan D’Amour and Ashley Yost
All-Star Cast — Chris Ramshaw, Joey Gallegos, and Walker Wallace
Then we advanced from District to Bi-District on March 9th, with the following awards divided among 6 schools:
Advancing Play
All-Star Crew — Reece Clark
Honorable Mention All-Star Cast — Ashley Yost
All-Star Cast — Chris Ramshaw and Walker Wallace
Please congratulate these students when you see them.  They have worked very hard and we look forward to representing RRHS at UIL Bi-District this Thursday at Stony Point HS, and on April 19th at the Heller Awards in Austin!
