RRHS STUDENT COUNCIL CLASS OF 2026 AFSP WALK

Walk With Us and Raise Your Voice!

Join the Fight Against Suicide

by The Class of 2026 Student Council on April 4th, 2023

Attention, Dragons! The Student Council Class of 2026 would like to extend a warm invitation for you to participate in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention walk. These community walks take place in numerous cities nationwide and form the core of the Out of Darkness Movement, which originated in 2004. The goal of these events is to encourage people to continue using their voices as a platform for mental health advocacy.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is dedicated to funding research, and promoting education, providing support to those affected by suicide, and advocating for sensible public policy. By working together, we can raise awareness, generate funds, shift the cultural conversation, and help prevent this tragic loss of life. Our community will be participating in the 6th Annual Campus Walk, alongside many other individuals in RRISD.

This walk will be hosted at Deerpark Middle School on April 15th at 10:00 am. We urge everyone to come out and show their support. The contributions made towards this walk will go towards supporting RRISD’s mental health initiatives and services. Let’s stand united and make a positive difference!

Click this Link to register for the walk! Once on our page, select “Join our team.” After registering with your email and password, you’ll be asked a few basic questions. We also seek your help in fundraising to support mental health initiatives and services, as well as the AFSP. Remember, we’re competing against other schools to see who can raise the most money, so sign up today!
