OPEN HOUSE

Hello RRHS Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to see you at Open House next week on September 6, 2023.  Please join us starting at 6:00 pm in the 1100 “main” cafeteria.  You may park anywhere and enter from any door (doors open at 5:45).

Some of our students (ROTC, StuCo, and Cheerleaders) will be on hand to welcome and assist you with any questions and/or directions.  Our teachers have all made introductory presentations to welcome you to their classrooms.

At Open House several student organizations/clubs will be located in the 1100 hallway and Booster clubs will be in the main foyer (by the bell).  You can purchase plenty of RR bling from the boosters and hear/see all the clubs we have to offer.  Please support the RRHS PTSA by becoming a member.  Our goal is to have 1,675 members by the end of the year.   Students and spouses can join.   Another way to help RRHS is to become a member of the A+FCU team.  Both the PTSA and A+FCU are amazing partners, and we thank them for their tremendous support.  The Co-Op “school store” will be open and selling merchandise as well as food and drink items.  Please help support the students who organize and run the school store.

If your teacher is unable to make it to Open House, they will send an email and will have a note on their door, reminding you they will be absent.  You can then go to their website and find their Open House presentation. Please feel free to visit similar teachers’ classrooms if your teacher was unable to make it. Ex. Step into an algebra classroom if your algebra teacher was unavailable at open house.

 Hints and tips for parents:

  • You do not have to follow your student’s schedule in order from period 1-8; instead, move through the buildings in order of convenience.
  • Teachers will be in their rooms ready to greet you as you enter.  Please remember they have on average 150 students so please use this time to meet and greet.  If you need to talk longer, please send an email or schedule a meeting.
  • Each classroom will have a looping slideshow of some sort playing in the room so you don’t have to wait around to talk to each teacher if you don’t have time or if they are busy talking to other parents.
  • Please remember that this has been a long evening for the staff, and at 8pm, we need to let them get home to their loved ones.
  • Ask your student to send you a picture of their schedule.  If you don’t have your student’s schedule, you can get a copy in the library.  If you print the schedule from HAC, make sure you have the classroom numbers (course numbers are not classroom numbers).
