Semester Exam Exemption Information Fall 2021
You may be eligible to exempt up to three non-end-of-course exams. If you have an 85 average for the fall semester in a class, and you are present on the day of the exam, you meet the eligibility requirements to request an exemption. You may NOT use an exam exemption for the same course next semester, so choose carefully! Note: If you do not attend your exam, you will be given a grade of 1 as a placeholder until you take the exam.
Reminder: Students may NOT exempt English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, nor US History fall semester exams as these are End of Course (EOC) subjects. There will not be a semester exam in the spring for these classes as they will take the EOC exam instead. Teachers of these subjects will not appear among the list of exemption options in the form unless they also teach another course.
Please complete the Fall 2021 Exemption Declaration Form where you will select the three classes you plan to exempt, should you meet the eligibility requirements. (You must be logged into your school-issued email account to complete this form.) You have until 4:30 pm on Friday, December 10th to complete this step.
You will receive a receipt from your submission summarizing your selections. In that email there will be a link to make any changes to your original submission–but you may only edit your choices once! ALL changes must be made by the deadline on Friday afternoon. You would be wise to confer with your teacher if your average in a class is not well over 85 to confirm your eligibility as best as possible prior to submission. After the deadline on Friday, you will not be able to add a replacement exemption for any classes where you do not meet the grade requirement.
