Round Rock High School 
On Monday evening, November 14th, 38 of our Dragon Band students competed with other band students from across our TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) region at the TMEA Region 26 Orchestra Winds and Percussion auditions, held at Pflugerville HS. These are band students (winds and percussion) who will play with orchestra students (strings) as part of the Region Orchestra. The Region Orchestra audition determines placement in our All Region 26 Orchestra, which will perform a concert on Saturday, December 3rd. This is the first individual competition for our band students this school year.
Our students did an OUTSTANDING JOB at these auditions! Of the 38 auditioning, 10 made a spot in the group (4 as first chair!) and of those 10, 7 have advanced to the Area level!!

The level of competition at this event is typically quite high so students earning one of the top chairs advance directly to the TMEA Area level auditions, to be held in Dallas in January. The Area level is where students have the opportunity to make All State!
The next individual opportunity will be the TMEA Region 26 Band Auditions, to be held December 9th and 10th where many more of our talented students will be competing for a top spot in the Region Band and also the chance to advance to the Area level.
